AGENTOS DOCS / AUTOMATION & INTEGRATION

Mobile App

The AgentOS mobile app lets you check on your agents, chat with them, and approve their work from your phone. This page covers setup, permissions, troubleshooting and how to reach support.

What you need

  • The AgentOS mobile app for iPhone, iPad or Android, from the App Store or Google Play. The app is free.
  • A computer running the AgentOS desktop app. See Install & Activate.
  • The phone and the computer on the same network, such as your home or office Wi-Fi.

There is no account to create and nothing to sign in to. The app works only with your own computer.

How it works

The phone connects directly to the computer running AgentOS over your local network. There is no cloud relay and no outside server. Every session is end-to-end encrypted and authenticated with keys that are exchanged when you pair.

Pair your phone

  1. On the computer: open Global Settings → Remote Control and turn it on. AgentOS starts a listener on port 3457. If Windows asks, allow AgentOS on private networks.
  2. Click Pair a New Phone. A QR code appears. It works once and expires after 5 minutes.
  3. On the phone: open the AgentOS app, tap Pair with a computer and scan the code. Name the phone and tap Pair.
  4. Back on the computer: click Approve next to the phone's name within 2 minutes.

Scanning the code with the phone's own camera app also works. It opens the AgentOS app at the pairing step.

Permissions the app asks for

PermissionWhen it's askedWhat it's used for
CameraWhen you scan a pairing codeReading the QR code only. Images are not saved or sent anywhere.
Local Network (iPhone and iPad)The first time the app connectsReaching the computer running AgentOS on your network.
Microphone and Speech RecognitionThe first time you tap the microphoneTurning your speech into a message. Where the phone supports it, recognition happens on the device.

You can change these at any time in your phone's settings. See the AgentOS Privacy Policy for how the app handles data.

Control what each phone can access

For each paired phone, choose all agents or selected agents, and whether Team Chat is allowed. Click Revoke to disconnect a phone immediately.

What you can do from the phone

  • See every allowed agent with live status: idle, working or needs input
  • Read and send messages with streamed replies, and use / commands
  • Dictate messages by voice using your phone's speech recognition
  • Stop a turn, approve or reject supervised jobs, and answer questions an agent paused to ask
  • Use Team Chat

The phone can't change settings, browse files, install packages, view credentials or open workspaces it wasn't granted.

Unpair a phone

  • From the phone: tap Settings → Forget this computer. You'll need a new pairing code to reconnect.
  • From the computer: click Revoke next to the phone in Global Settings → Remote Control. This removes its access completely.

Troubleshooting

The app can't connect to the computer

  • Check that the phone and the computer are on the same Wi-Fi network, and that the phone isn't on a guest network or a VPN.
  • Check that the AgentOS server is running and Remote Control is turned on.
  • Allow AgentOS through the computer's firewall on private networks (port 3457 by default).
  • On an iPhone or iPad, open Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network and make sure AgentOS is turned on.
  • If the computer's IP address changed and none of its known addresses answer, pair the phone again.

Pairing fails or the code doesn't work

  • Each code works once and expires after 5 minutes. Click Pair a New Phone for a fresh one.
  • Approve the phone on the computer within 2 minutes of tapping Pair. If you miss it, scan a new code.
  • If the app says the code isn't an AgentOS pairing code, make sure you're scanning the code from Global Settings → Remote Control.

An agent is missing from the list

  • The phone only sees the agents it's allowed to. On the computer, click Access next to the phone and check its agent list.
  • Disabled or hidden agents don't appear on the phone.

Voice input doesn't work

  • Allow Microphone and Speech Recognition for AgentOS in your phone's settings.
  • On Android, voice input uses the phone's speech service, usually provided by the Google app. Make sure it's installed and up to date.

Good to know

  • Access from outside your network isn't available yet.
  • Notifications appear while the app is open. Push notifications aren't available yet.
  • Changing the port: set it before enabling Remote Control. It's saved as remoteControl.port in ~/.agentos/server.json.
