Scheduled Tasks
Ask for recurring work in plain English. You don't need to know cron syntax.
Scheduling in plain English
Every morning at 8am, check whether https://mysite.com is online.
If it's down, save an alert to "uptime-log.md".
Every Monday at 9am, read the files modified this week, summarize the changes,
and save the report to "weekly-summary.md".
Every day at 7:30am, check my calendar and write a summary of my day to "daily-brief.md".
The agent creates a scheduled task that runs the prompt on that schedule, with all of its tools and connectors available.
Managing schedules
Open the Scheduled page for a workspace (/workspaces/:id/crons), or use:
/cron list scheduled tasks
/cron add add a task interactively
/cron remove <id> delete a task
Requirements for schedules to run
- The server must be running. Turn on Auto-start in Global Settings so schedules survive reboots.
- Heartbeat interval. AgentOS checks for due tasks on a heartbeat (Global Settings → Heartbeat Interval, in minutes). A short interval gives more precise timing.
- Trust mode. In supervised mode, jobs created by a scheduled run still wait for your approval. Use auto mode for unattended work.
Getting notified
The agent can send you a desktop notification when it finishes something or needs your input. Click the notification to open the conversation. Ask for it in the prompt: "…and notify me if anything fails."
